Share of search
Sample data for a fictional surf app. Share of search: of all the top 10 spots across your keywords, the share each app holds.
How deep Google Play tracking goes
In our checks, Google Play's public search page shows about 20 to 30 apps for a search, so Altitude reports Play ranks to the top 30 at most. Past that you see “not in the top 30”, never a made up number. If a check fails, the day shows as unknown rather than a drop.
The same app on both stores
Add your App Store and Google Play listings and switch between them from the app menu. Each keeps its own keywords and competitors, because the apps that beat you on Play are often not the ones that beat you on iPhone.
What you see
- Your rank on each keyword and the top 10 apps right now, with who entered and who dropped out.
- What any competitor ranks for, found from its public listing, next to your own rank on the same searches.
- Competitor listing changes as they happen.
- A free Play listing checker for your title and descriptions.
What it costs
Your first app is free, with no card. Pro is $5 a month for 3 apps and daily checks. See pricing.
Questions
Do I need to connect Google Play Console?
No. Altitude reads Google Play's public pages. No service account, no keys.
Why only the top 30 on Google Play?
That is about how many apps Google Play's public search page shows in our checks (Google does not publish a number). Altitude never guesses ranks beyond what it can see.
Does Altitude show demand for Google Play keywords?
Not yet. Play search pages show no rating counts, which our demand estimate needs, so Play keywords show ranks without demand or difficulty.
